eclipse want run on edgy

Hi list,
I just had installed eclipse and wanted to run it but without success.
When I enter
$ eclipse
in the console I see :
   searching for compatible vm...
  testing /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj...found
But some seconds later I get the message that eclipse crashed.
Looking the log I didn't saw anything that could help me.
Perhaps anyone of you see more.
