edgy refusing to install

I can't seem to be able to install Edgy from CD.
At the moment I have Dappa Drake and want to upgrade in order to take
advantage of a more up to date version of Orca.
However, I can't get accessibility to work when I press F5 followed by 3
when the boot menu appears and a fully Sighted person tried installing
Edgy from the desktop and it kept crashing.
The furthest I get is running Ubuntu Live and even then the icons take
ages to come up after the Edgy sound.
There was some mention in the accessibility doc of a problem with the
desktop icon for installing Ubuntu from the Live CD. Could this be a
problem even for the fully Sighted user as well and if so would I have
to run Ubiquity from the terminal?
