Will this bypass the need for secure http. I have heard of doing this
before but was always a bit nervous about doing so.

I have already included the allow directive for the machines I want
access from as detail in my post.

Allow from.my.network.ip

Later on I may include :

Allow from.my.network.address/network-mask

If all else fails with the other options I may try this, but I'll post
my results anyhow.
