Ah, well, it was worth a try. The "BadMatch" error in firefox after
upgrading to Edgy seems to be common. Simply reconfiguring X worked
for me, but others are reporting that they need to change a setting in
firefox. There's a bug report on it, here:

Try this in a terminal, to add the XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS to your
firefox settings:
echo export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 | sudo tee -a /etc/firefox/firefoxrc
