   Yes, I have verified the disk and even moved around the partitions.  I
have also verified and even burnt another alternate Edgy CD.  I get exactly
the same error at the stage "Select and install software":

   I think /dev/sr is the DVD.  What can be wrong?  Everything works fine
with Windows.
