I'm not at my Linux desktop right now, so I may get some details
wrong, but when you get to the gdm screen (where you log in), there's
a menu at the bottom left called "options." You can choose KDE from
there, if you have kubuntu-desktop installed. You'll be asked if you
want to make that the default.
