gnome-terminal configuration file storage place?

Every time I hear mention of the Gconf database, I can't help but be
reminded of something known as the "registry" from a lil-ole OS out of
Redmond, Washington, USA.  It's an OS that many Linux users love to hate.

Apparently someone at GNOME a while back thought the registry wasn't
such a bad idea after all.
