[Newbie] ubuntu's update-manager???

thanks for answering my questions. yes, i'm running dapper, although
it frequently feels like it's running me.

yes, i think it is great. that there would be greater development 
activity towards the
release date makes sense.

one follow-up question: why does the upgrade-manager require a re-boot 
on some
mornings rather than others? it's not a problem for me, since i'm the 
only user (i think)
on this system. but i could understand how that could cause problems for 
systems
trying to handle multiple users. the usual approach i imagine would 
involve middle of
the night re-boots, i think. but still.
