Have you installed all the last updates or if it doesn't do it did you 
try a recent install (try the daily builds)?
I've had this pb for months in Dapper, but it was fixed one or two weeks 
ago. Now it seems it's reverted to the sane situation we had in Breezy 
(if the USB has no drive label it's sthg like usbdisk in /media and 
doesn't change).
