[Newbie] ubuntu's update-manager???

This is changing lately, with the introduction of Microsoft Update,
which updates with microsoft software and some? third party apps and
drivers. Still, the state of updates on Linux is far better, apart
from binary incremental updates (binary patches) which are only
recently being implemented on open source software with delta-rpm and
"diff binary packages" I don't recall the name of in Debian.
