I'm not bashing anybody, I'm just suggesting it's silly to say that
using the filesystem is bad because it's "not very usable." Usable for
what and by whom? I understand the notion of autosave as in Tomboy,
but if that's what the developers are after I think they need to call
it something other than a text editor, perhaps a scratchpad, notepad,
or something. When you say text editor, I expect to be able to open
and write files from and to anywhere I have read/write permissions.
