VMWare stuff

Indeed you can as others have already noted. I'm currently using the 
attached blank vmware image in Windows, which is just the vmdk and vmx 
files as a starting point for installation of any new OS. Thus I would 
guess that you would at minimum need to back up your version of these 
two files.
