hi all,

i upgraded from breezy to dapper. apart form my slow internet connection
after 7hrs it was looking great & things were working better than ever. i
was geting higher fps on my 3D apps. which was exciting...

i saw a demonstration with XGL & was blown away, so i had to try it. i
installed & configures it. things were all well. my desktop was spinning &
going all nice & wobbly :) then i wanted to reboot so i tried to log out but
my pc hanged so i pushed restart :<

now when i boot back in i get a error

GDM: Xserver not found: /usr/local/bin/Xgl :0 :0 -fullscreen -ac -accel xv
-accel glx:pbuffer -auth /varlib/gdm/:0.Xauth -nolisten tcp vt7
Error: Command could not be excecuted!
Please install the X server or correct GDM configuration and restart GDM

i ran dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, all the value had changed so i
corrected them but that didnt help me

when i type X the screen shows a grey mesh & thats about all

does anyone know how i can fix this or how i can go back to a normal 2D
desktop?

thanks
