Dapper Drake xserver fails

    sudo nano -w /etc/X11/xorg.conf
--------------------




scroll down the file with your keyboard and set the driver to "vesa" in
the Section Device



Press CTRL+X to exit (save the file)



Restart the Xserver:

    sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
--------------------




Then you will have to reinstall the proprietary driver for your graphic
card if you want better performance
