[Addendum]k3b not burning at set speed

The verification process mentioned (in 4.) ceased to work at 98%, and the 
process stopped responding completely to the point that even the widgets are 
gone in k3b's windows.  Elapsed time was 22 minutes and an odd number of 
seconds.

Something is seriously wrong, here.
