hello ubuntu team,

i was very excited to find a free linux.
i downloaded the live cd version of 5.10 (breezy badger) to have
test run. unfortunately the software didn't boot and froze the machine.
it would be great if you could help me booting the software.
unfortunately i am a total greenhorn with command line software.

these are my hardware specs:

Hardware Overview:

   Machine Name:	Power Mac G5
   Machine Model:	PowerMac7,2
   CPU Type:	PowerPC 970 (2.2)
   Number Of CPUs:	2
   CPU Speed:	1.8 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):	512 KB
   Memory:	2 GB
   Bus Speed:	900 MHz
   Boot ROM Version:	5.1.5f0
   Serial Number:	CK415JMHR5J

this is what happened just before it froze.

starting cpu/cpus/PoerPC, 970 ... failed: 00000000
invalid memory access at %SRRO: 00000000.0140382c
%SRR1:10000000.00083030

in your installation guide you mention the memory issue and i know
that 2gb of ram is not supported by the kernel
but i really don't know how to solve the issue.
it says to include a boot argument like: mem=512m
but i do not even know how to add a boot argument.
the mac OS does make ones life easy in that respect.

any help will be very much appreciated.

thanks,

sascha
