Synaptic 'rollback' function?

Something seems to be awry with this  email-list-based forum thread. 
Toby's note below appears to be copied to this thread a dozen times or
more...and growing.  I just got another copy from watching the thread
just now.



Can anyone fix this?  ubuntuforums.org admins?
