Ubuntu security hole? (not super major, but wondering if it is an issue to report)

Are you sure that's not due to something else?
I've been using reiser3 on my laptop for over a year and I don't
see any background disk IO).

Reiser beats ext3 when you use it with LVM .
Online resizable and easy to shrink.
