Ubuntu USB installation

Replaced my DVD drive with a second harddisk no floppy on that Notebook.
would like to make a Ubuntu installation from a USB Stick.
How I get the Ubuntu CD on a USB Stick, make the USB Stick bootable, from where
the installation should start.
Notebook is able to boot from USB devices.
Read about Linux running on USB devices, but not howto install from USB device.
