Dapper speed improvement

Any ideas what might cause the pb? It was like that already with a fresh
Dapper install.
(however, Firefox also only takes 3 to 4 sec here when it's hot in the
cache. The pb is the time it takes the first time you start it. Same
with nautilus, if I start it afterwards it only take 1 to 2 sec, and
it's the same with all application. What is a pain is the time it takes
each time I boot the machine and launch the first apps).

That would be really nice. Are you talking after a fresh boot, or a
reconnection? I don't start any app at login (default configuration,
just a few shortcuts added to the taskbar.
