X trouble

It's looking for the development libraries and headers for X, ( graphical
system)  and can't find them

 $ apt-cache policy x-window-system-dev
x-window-system-dev:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 6.8.2-77
  Version table:
     6.8.2-77 0
        500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com breezy/main Packages
It's in the main repository --------------------------->^

sudo apt-get install x-window-system-dev

or search in synaptic. 

You *have* run an apt-get update/ reload since installing
Ubuntu , right?  [ just kidding]   ;-)

P.S. By the way, can you please either post at the bottom, or interspersed
