I know that php5-mysqli is not required to run mysql-server-5.x. But there
are some special things mysqli_prepare, mysqli_rollback, mysqli_ssl_set....
There might be some people who dont't this features, but when you offer
mysql-server-5.x I think it would be nice to offer php5-mysqli, too.
It would be great if you can make this exception!!! And I think a lot of
people are looking forward for the php5-mysqli package, too!!
