I really haven't found a good way to play movies under Ubuntu. It could
be that my laptop simply isn't fast enough for some movies, but I find
this to be unlikely. It is a 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 with a Radeon Mobility
card in it. I would suggest using totem with xine instead of totem with
gstreamer. It seems to work better. I've also tried MPlayer. After
tweaking the configuration for a while I can usually play what I want, but
eventually my machine gets behind where it should be and the quality goes
to hell.
If you come up with a good solution, please post information here.
