I updated the kernel to 2.6.17.1 no problem...Wireless in dapper...go suck eggs

You may have resolved this by now, but I thought I would post to let you
know that I'm having difficulty with the 2.6.17 kernel and my wireless
card.  

Whenever I plug it in my laptop locks up.  

I went back to 2.6.16.20.  That works great.
