The issue of mergin VCD in DVD is not that easy if you want to keep the DVD
video format to be able to play in a Home DVD reader attached to a TV.
DVD video is more a question of movie length in terms of seconds, than
in terms of space as MegaByte, GigaByte. Besides, as far as I know,
Video formats are different from DVD to VCD which means you need to
reconvert movies from one to another.
You said that with 650MB VCD movie you could fit 7 in a 4.7 GB DVD. That
is just correct if you record a DATA DVD. For a MOVIE DVD as a Region 1,
2, 3 ... DVD you will NOT be able to fit those 7 movies in a DVD. I
guess this has to do with disc Formats. What I'm not sure that could be
done as I haven't tested is to Fit those 7 movies in a DVD with VCD
format. That way it would be possible as you keep file formats. Or if
you have a DVD player that also plays DivX you could try with DivX
formats as a DivX CD is a Data CD, so you could fit those 7 movies in a
Data DVD.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
