Thunderbird Problem

This morning I turned on Thunderbird and it wont check mail at all.
Unless you click on one of the lower Local Folders, it wont check mail.
You cant move mail out of the inbox at times unless you click on a
local folder and then back to the inbox.

FRUSTRATING!

So, since I didnt copy the whole profile, just the mail, this means
that my mail is in some way corrupt?
