use BitTorrent.  it will deal with dropped connections, correpted packets, etc.

also, have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/LocalNet

I think you only need the pxe boot files and kernel from the CD, then point to a 
  repository that is on the Net.  it shoudl work, but using BT will, so just do 
that ;)
