One thing I would like to point out in this area is that people are somewhat
routinely replying to spam to the list. Please don't.
1. My spam filters work reasonably well, so I virtually never see such
messages. Your replies, OTOH, get through. They really add no value to this
list and can be quite jarring, especially as some of the responses are
extremely unpleasant.
2. The spammers aren't listening. Most spam is sent from forged addresses.
If you reply to one of these, not only does the whole list get the benefit of
your curses, the target of your venom is almost certainly not to get to enjoy
your words of wisdom.
So, if spam comes through the list, please don't reply. That's one thing we
can all do right away to help with this problem.
