Kernel Compilation Woes [was Re: iPod Isssues]

Sadly, t didn't work. I get the same errors as before. I can't figure out
why since everybody (people posting in the bug in launchpad) says this
works!

It gets weirder. I uninstalled the linux-source, cleared the apt-get cache
and reinstalled (it downloaded again from the repository). I recompiled
again and installed and now I get 2.6.15.7. I am just puzzled!

Anyway... this sucks, my custom compiled kernel doesn't fix the iPod issue
*and* leaves me with no wireless. 

Suggestions welcome!
