Sucess with dual monitors

Hi all, I've been searching the Ubuntu forums for a couple of days now
without success for an answer to my question and this seems as good a
place as any to ask it.

I am a TOTAL linux newb; but, I'm ethicaly motivated to switch from
windows to linux and Ubuntu seems like the perfect place to start.

What I am trying to do is get a multiple monitor setup to work. It's a
desktop computer with an ATI Radeon 9600 (dual head) graphics card.
Both monitors work just fine in windows; but I can't figure out how to
configure this in Ubuntu. I realize that it involves editing my
xorg.conf file but I am hesitant to do so without advice as I have no
idea what I'm doing.

So far, I have run 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' and made those
settings suitable for my video card/monitors, etc. I have also looked
into 'Xorg-Edit v06.06.11' (a GUI to edit xorg.conf) but don't know how
to deal with the dependencies for it (libwxgtk2.6-0).

Could anyone please tell me the changes I need to make to my xorg.conf
file, or, point me to a guide that would let me figure it out
(hopefully)? Thanks so much.

===========

my xorg.conf file in full:

===========

# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)

#

# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool,
using

# values from the debconf database.

#

# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual
page.

# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)

#

# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades
*only*

# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the
xserver-xorg

# package.

#

# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically
updated

# again, run the following command:

# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
