Sucess with dual monitors

newbie here...

Are there any projects underway to automate and/or GUI-ize this
procedure? I've learned my way around Xorg.conf but it definitely
should be easier.

Seems to me that this is a glaring area where windows/macOS still
outstrip ubuntu for laptop use. I have a docking port therefore the
switching between single/dual/clone(projector) displays is an almost
daily thing.

NetworkManager is closing the gap on the wireless connectivity issue,
now we need something similar for XOrg!

Cheers,
MC
