Ubuntu media center?

I've been using a g4 mac mini as my media center for some time now. I
picked up the ATI Remote Wonder 2 and a wireless keyboard and mouse. I
don't have any TV input, I just have DVDs and downloaded TV shows. There
are tons of legally downloadable shows and movies on
http://www.archive.org/details/movies

MythTV is generally considered the tool to use, though I just use
nautilus to navigate through my videos. It allows you to run a server
(which would have your HDTV tuner card and louder fans) in a different
room to record your shows.
