Installing Dapper

I am trying to install Dapper on a drive that primarily runs on XP.
The space (empty) set aside for a basic installation of Dapper is 
5 Gb at the end of the drive.
Previously it had Breezy installed and running.
This is the error message I get:

*Preparing restricted drivers...
*Starting basic networking...
*Starting kernel event manager...
*Loading hardware drivers...
[4294792.099000] hw_random RNG not detected
[4294803.590000] BUG: softlockup detected on CPU#0!

Anyone?
