Why take it so personally. One Gentoo user says that etc-update can 
completely hose the system if you are not careful. That's not FUD even 
if you disagree with the poster. I wouldn't like people to call FUD when 
I complain about Dapper's stability either. That sort of attitude only 
blinds us to real issues.
