Yes.
First just start a new blank document and change all the styles and
page/format settings to the way you prefer it. (For the styles, right
click it and then select 'Modify'.)
Then go File -> Templates -> Save
Give it a name, any name, like 'My default Template'.
That window will then close, but go back in to make that template the
default:
File -> Templates -> Organize
Then select the template you just saved (usually saved under 'My
Templates'), and click 'Commands' and select 'Set as default template'.
That's it!
