Installing 6.06 on an External USB Hard Drive

I've tried to look around for info pertaining to installing 6.06 onto an 
external USB hard drive but have found zilch.  I have a dual-boot 
(XP/SUSE) system which I don't want to disturb at all.

Is it possible?  Has anyone here done it?  Are there any pitfalls?  Any 
and all feedback is welcome.
