hibernate when power is low?

Thanks so much for htis Jaime!  That worked great -- actually I used
dpkg-divert to set hal's scrupts to
/usr/share/hal/scripts/system/hal-system-power-*.distrib, then used
update-alternateives to make the origintla script location into a link
pointing to my own hibernate scripts.  SO ssuspend doesn'twork yet; but
despite that the laptop is very functional.  

Florian, the acpi stuff doesn't work because gnome-power-manager hijacks
certain events bevore acpi can work...
