What about Excel spreadsheets with macros which become crippled if
macros don't work ?

Let's say you are a consultant and take your Linux laptop to a
customer which uses, let's say, SAP BW (that's a data warehousing
app). The client portion of BW relies heavily on Excel with macros to
present meaningful info.

And AFAIK Excel macros don't work under Ooo.
