Hello list:
I am running Kubuntu 6.06 LTS on a AMD64 machine and have managed to
successfully install FreeNX from package obtained at
http://mirror.ubuntulinux.nl/dists/dapper-seveas/all/
I then installed FreeNX in the following fashion:
# dpkg -i freenx_0.4.4+0.4.5-4ubuntu2_all.deb
# dpkg -i --force-architecture libxcomp1_1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1_i386.deb
# dpkg -i --force-architecture
libxcompext1_1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1_i386.deb
# dpkg -i --force-architecture nxlibs_1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1_i386.deb
# dpkg -i --force-architecture nxagent_1.4.92+1.5.0-11ubuntu1_i386.deb
FreeNX now appears to be working like a proverbial charm. However, now
when I run apt-get dist-upgrade I get the following message:
# apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
freenx: Depends: nxagent (>= 1.4.92+1.5.0) but it is not installable
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
If I run apt-get -f install it will remove FreeNX, which I do not want
to do. However, I cannot find a command to force apt-get to ignore
FreeNX and leave it alone.
Any ideas.
