ntpdate installed but time differs from nrc official?

"just worked" is what i like to hear. i've not heard of chrony. is it an 
off-shoot of cron? i'll have to have a look around.

although i'm wary of others "few hours" time estimates. they usually 
translate into much longer, in my world. :c)
