Hello,
due to bug #5264
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15/+bug/5264/+index
i can not use fglrx on my compaq nx7010, shipped with an ati mobility
firegl 9000, as lspci states:
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc
Radeon R250
Lf [FireGL 9000] (rev 01)
1- Do you think that this problem will take more time to be solved by
ATI? As i understand, it seems a problem with their 8.25.x drivers.
Anyway, i'd be happy if i could use DRI with the opensource "ati" driver .
But after a fresh dapper install, i have only 2D on my laptop:
this is "grep -i rendering /var/log/Xorg.0.log"
(II) RADEON(0): Direct rendering enabled
and this is fglrxinfo (same with glxinfo):
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.4.1)
Is there a method to get OS drivers work with 3D with my hardware?
I'm thinking about downgrading to breezy to have fglrx working correctly
as it was since 3 days ago.
But i'll do it only if i don't have good alternative.
Bye
