Printer jobs hang following upgrade to dapper

Just upgraded (a full reinstall) from 5.10 to 6.06

Using postscript drivers to connect to a couple of network printers via ipp.

At the printer end everything is fine: the job completes perfectly
well. However, the little printer icon remains in the gnome
notification area, and when clicked I see that the job is still marked
as "printing". This blocks subsequent jobs. The work-around is to
ensure that the job has really finished and then cancel it on the PC.

Any suggestions for resolving this issue?

Thanks,
Roy.
