GarageBand substitute?

It does look very powerful.  But my daughter's 7 years old... so power
isn't exactly what I need.  Instead I am hoping to find something
straightforward & intuitive, along the lines of garageband (rather
than, say, cubase, or ProTools).  

I'll keep looking!
