Hi there,
I've just installed 6.06 on my VaioSZ 160. It's a dual core system.
After installing, I ran :
apt-get install linux-686
Which, as I understand, now includes the SMP option by default.
(linux-686-smp is a metapackage)
Now, if I run uname -a I get :
2.6.15-23-686 #1 SMP PREEMPT
And if I run : cat /proc/cpuinfo I get :
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 14
model name : Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz
stepping : 8
cpu MHz : 1833.636
cache size : 2048 KB
physical id : 0

cpu cores : 1

bogomips : 2002.96
So I keep getting the feeling that while I paid for two cores, I'm
using just one. I read from other people that they had no problem
displaying the two cores on an identical model (Sony Vaio SZ110). I
just can't see what the problem might be.
The 'System Monitor' utility also displays a single Core/CPU
Any help appreciated!
Regards -
Guillaume
