I've installed from scratch from the desktop cd and I do not have this
file you mentioned. Look:

   ubi at ubi-desktop:/etc/gconf$ ls *
   2:
   path

   gconf.xml.defaults:
   %gconf-tree.xml

   gconf.xml.mandatory:
   %gconf-tree.xml

Done. No change :-/ ... thanks anyway :).

Does anyone that have installed from the cd has the same problem, or am I alone?
