GUI inconsistency (Dapper)

Hi all,

I've just migrated to Dapper on most of my boxes. Install went smoothly and
all in all I'm pretty happy with the system. Machines seem a lot faster than
they used to be even :-)

I noticed some inconsistencies in the graphics, though. Sometimes the Ubuntu
buttons are a little bit garbled as can be seen in the attached screendump
"buttons.png". Another issue is the firefox/GMail combination. In GMail (and
only in GMail) the cursor seems to have an extra horizontal stripe near the
top. Looks really ugly as can be seen in the attached "ff.png".

Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on how to fix it?
