Best way to pull a "side-grade"?

It shouldn't be hard:

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

But, note, that I haven't done this, and I suspect a fair amount of
packages will have to be downloaded, but certainly less than your
5.10->6.06 upgrade.
