Greetings all,
Has anyone tried and been successful at getting Ubuntu installed and
running on a Dell 2950?
I have managed to get it installed on to the HDD, however it does not /
cannot see the network card.
They are Broadcom NetXtreme II 5708 Gigabit Ethernet NIC's.
When I try a 'lspci' I get the following:
# lspci | grep -i broad
PCI bridge: Broadcom: Unknown device 0103 (rev c2)
Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation: Unknown device 164c (rev 11)
I have tried manually updating the pci.ids file (dunno if this is
recommended or not) but that does not appear to change anything.
Dell supplies drivers for Redhat ES, SUSE ES, "and others", It is a DKMS
RPM - does this mean anything to anyone?
One of the RPM's supplied is the source, but I am not familiar enough with
compiling to figure out what needs to be adjusted to get it to compile on
Ubuntu...
Any help would be appreciated.
