You're right, I got confused because AMD's X2 processors have been out
more than a year now.  For some reason, I had thought Intel's had been
released only a couple months after AMD's.  I guess that just shows how
little Intel's chips have impressed me...

These Conroe, assuming they work as the early reviews are showing, are
quite a turnaround from Intel's previous work.  They got distracted by
the whole Itanium junk for too long and just kept trying to push the mhz
without any real innovation...
