Slow VMware over X11 performance on Dapper upgrade

Now with low quality video:

Slow repaint on Dapper:

Fast repaint on Breezy:

Exact same hardware, same X11 client, same network, same virtual
machine.  Only difference is Ubuntu Breezy and Dapper on the remote X11
machine.

Any ideas?
